Polite Elisabeth

Elisabeth has undergone a radical change in the past month. We've gone from 15-20 timeouts per week to zero. I guess she is bottling up the crazy and the angst and stowing it away like a squirrel for the teen years. She used to get really ornery if you asked her if she needed to use the potty and she didn't. The orneriness (new word?) grew with each passing time you asked her until she got so mad that she peed her pants. So the pee pee timer was born. We carried it around with us everywhere we went and when the timer said it was time to pee - it was time to pee. She seems to understand that you can't really argue with an inanimate object.

After the transformation, though, she's just so much more pleasant. This is evidenced by her response when you ask her if she needs to pee: "No, I don't. But thank you very much for asking. It was very nice of you." She said it to Doug last night and to me this morning. It is very hard not to laugh.

I just baked 10 peaches to puree for Miss Charlotte. They smell delicious.

And now for some pictures.:

This is Charlotte doing her best impression of that kid from the Christmas Story.

This is how Elisabeth fell asleep a few nights ago. it was too precious. sometime you forget they're just little creatures.

This is what dinner time looks like at our house. The funniest part about this is that I had no idea Elisabeth was making faces. I was trying to get a picture of Charlotte taking the bowl away from Doug. Ah the chaos.
